Project Hail Mary

Project Hail Mary is a sci fi movie directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller starring Ryan Gosling and Sandra Hüller.

The story follows Grace, a high school teacher who finds him self alone in a space ship with no memory of how he got there. He soon remembers his mission to save humanity from an existential thread caused by an alien life form that accumulates on the sun.

Little does he know, he's not the only astronaut with that mission. Lost in space he meets another sentient alien, whom he names Rocky, with the same goal. With their combined knowledge of the universe they hatch a plan to free the sun while at the same time forming a strong bond together.
